A little about me

 

My name is Anne Boothroyd. I am a creative and writer with a passion for advertising, business and ideas that influence and create change.

After studying a Bachelor of Visual Communication at Massey University and a Diploma of Creative Advertising at Axis Ad School, I landed a job at Colenso BBDO. Arguably New Zealand's best agency, then and now. I grew up at Colenso working on some of New Zealand’s biggest brands, including Air New Zealand, Vodafone and Yellow Pages, and new business pitches for clients like IAG, Vodafone and Hell Pizza.

Six years later I moved back to my hometown of Wellington, spending two years at Clemenger BBDO as a Senior Creative. Social Marketing provided a new challenge, including New Zealand Transport Agency campaigns for speed, intersections and drink-driving. 

Back in Auckland, I joined Saatchi & Saatchi as Creative Group Head. During my three years here I worked across all the agency's key clients, including Telecom, Sanitarium, Toyota, South Auckland Health Foundation and Breast Cancer Research Trust. I also had the privilege of working closely with Nicky Bell, CEO, on the reinvention of the agency, securing existing clients and new business and helping to restore the culture.

I love ideas and have been awarded at every major award show for both my creativity and effectiveness. My accolades include gold at Cannes, Award, Young Guns, Axis, Caples, Clio and New York Festival, plus two nominations and a yellow pencil at D&AD. I have also been awarded silver, gold and platinum at the New Zealand and Asian Effies.

My recent adventures include several years of freelance, working with agencies and small businesses. A role as Creative Group Head at Ogilvy NZ, food columnist for B. Magazine, co-owner of my own small business, The Toy Shop and most recently Mum to my gorgeous little boy, Matteo.
